Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 27, 2026
Plain-English summary
- There are no accounts. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and we do not run a user database.
- Your favorites, recent stations, song history and settings stay on your device, and optionally sync through your own iCloud, which we cannot read.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. You choose whether ads can be personalized, and Pro or Remove Ads turns ads off.
- Captions and translation run on your device. Song recognition sends short audio signatures from the radio stream (never your microphone) to Apple.
- Rewind is a temporary buffer in memory. Nothing is recorded or saved, and it is erased when you close the app.
1. Who we are
TuneMundi (“we”, “us”) makes the TuneMundi radio app for iPhone and iPad and the website tunemundi.com. This policy explains what information the app and the website handle and why.
Developer: TuneMundi (the developer listed on the App Store).
Contact, by email only: support@tunemundi.com
2. Information we collect
Information we do not collect
We do not have user accounts, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location or microphone audio. We do not run our own analytics or crash-reporting service in the app, and the app does not ask for location permission.
Information that stays on your device
The app stores these on your device: favorites, recent stations, identified-song history, your sound and appearance settings, alarm and sleep-timer settings, the last station you played, how long you have listened to each station and which countries you have played (the listening time is used to choose which noise profiles to keep), and how long you have used the free captions preview each day. It also stores static-reduction noise profiles (for the stations you listen to most) and per-station volume levels, which are used only to make the sound better. We do not receive any of this.
Information in your iCloud (optional)
If iCloud Sync is on, favorites, recent stations, song history (up to 500 songs) and settings are saved to your own iCloud using Apple’s iCloud key-value storage, so they appear on your other devices. This data belongs to your Apple Account and we cannot read it. You can turn it off in Settings → iCloud Sync.
Information handled when you listen
- Radio streams. Audio streams come directly from the station’s own servers or hosting providers, not through us. Those servers can see your IP address, device and app details (such as the user agent) and the time of your request, like any website you visit. Some station logos and other artwork are also loaded from third-party servers, which can see the same kind of request details.
- Approximate location. We do not ask for your location. Providers such as stations and advertisers can infer an approximate location from your IP address.
- Song recognition. When you use Song ID or turn on Auto song ID, the app creates short audio signatures from the station stream (not your microphone) and sends them to Apple’s music recognition service. The result (title, artist, album art, links) is shown in the app and saved in your song history on your device. The app also looks up the song’s length and artwork from Apple servers to show the song card.
- Captions and translation (Pro). Captions are processed on your device using Apple’s built-in speech and translation features. Captions are not sent to us. The transcript is kept in memory only and cleared when you change station or close the app.
- Rewind. The rewind buffer is temporary, held in memory, and erased when you change station or close the app. Nothing is recorded or saved.
- Alarm. The alarm clock uses notifications and system alarms on your device. We do not receive alarm data.
Advertising information
In the free version, Google AdMob may collect device identifiers (including the advertising identifier, IDFA, if you allow tracking), your IP address, and information about how you interact with ads, such as ads shown, taps and video views. Google may also collect diagnostic and performance information about its ads software. See “Advertising and your choices” below.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive your entitlement status (for example, whether Pro or Remove Ads is active), but no payment card or billing details.
Support emails
If you use Settings → Report a problem, the app prepares an email to us. It contains whatever you write, plus the app version, iOS version and the name and ID of the station you were playing, which you can edit or delete before sending. Nothing is sent unless you press Send in your mail app. We receive your email address and anything else you include when you write to us. The app does not send automatic station failure reports.
Diagnostics from Apple
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may give us aggregated and anonymous crash and usage reports through App Store Connect. We cannot identify you from them.
Website
tunemundi.com has no cookies or analytics of our own. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps routine server logs (such as IP address, browser, pages requested and time) to deliver and protect the site.
3. How we use information
- To play stations, show song and artwork results, and provide sound, rewind, captions, alarm and sync features.
- To show ads in the free version and to remove them when you buy Pro or Remove Ads.
- To check your purchases and unlock Pro features.
- To answer your support emails, fix bugs and update the station directory.
- To protect the app and website from abuse, and to meet legal obligations.
If you are in the EEA, UK or a similar region, our legal bases are: providing the service you ask for (contract), your consent (for personalized ads and tracking), and our legitimate interests in supporting and securing the app.
4. Third-party services
These services handle information as described in their own privacy policies:
- Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform (ads and consent messages): how Google uses data from apps and Google Privacy Policy.
- Apple (App Store purchases, iCloud, music recognition, speech and translation features, and optional developer analytics): Apple Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare (website hosting): Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
- Radio stations and their stream, hosting and logo providers: each station and provider has its own policy, and we do not control it. Check the station’s own website for details.
5. Advertising and your choices
The free version shows banner ads, pop-up (interstitial) ads when you switch stations, and optional rewarded video ads. You can control ads in these ways:
- App Tracking Transparency. On iOS we ask permission before the advertising identifier is used for personalized ads. If you decline, ads are non-personalized. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Consent message. In regions where it is required, such as the EEA and UK, Google’s consent message appears. You can review or change your choice in Settings → Privacy choices (where available).
- Limit ad tracking. You can also turn off personalized ads in your iOS settings and stop all apps from asking to track you.
- Rewarded ads. Watching an optional rewarded video gives you 1 hour without ads. It is your choice and you can skip it.
- Remove ads. TuneMundi Pro and the one-time Remove Ads purchase remove ads from the app.
6. When we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only in these cases:
- Service providers. With the providers listed above so the app, ads, purchases and website work. Advertising partners receive the information described under “Advertising information”.
- Legal reasons. When we believe in good faith that we must respond to a legal request or protect our rights, users or the public from fraud, abuse or safety risks.
- Business transfer. If TuneMundi is merged, sold or reorganized, information we hold (mostly support emails) may transfer to the new owner, who must honor this policy.
7. Data retention
- On-device data stays until you delete it in the app or delete the app. Rewind and caption data are erased from memory as described above.
- iCloud data stays in your iCloud until you turn off sync and delete it, or remove it from your Apple Account.
- Support emails are kept for as long as needed to help you and to keep a record of the issue, and then deleted.
- Data held by Google, Apple, Cloudflare and station providers follows their own retention rules.
8. Children
TuneMundi is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. In the EEA you must be at least 16 (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the app with personalized ads. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
9. International users and your rights
TuneMundi is available worldwide, and the services we use (such as Google, Apple and Cloudflare) may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where required, they rely on lawful transfer mechanisms.
EEA, UK and similar regions (GDPR). You may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold, restrict or object to its use, withdraw consent at any time, and receive a copy of your data. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Because we hold very little personal information (mostly emails you send us), most of your data is on your device, in your iCloud, or with the providers above, and you can manage it using the controls in this policy.
California and other US states (CCPA and similar laws). You may have the right to know what personal information we collect and use, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. Our use of Google AdMob in the free version may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising (or a “sale” or targeted advertising under some state laws). You can opt out by declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt, using Settings → Privacy choices, or buying Pro or Remove Ads. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.
To use a right, email support@tunemundi.com. We may need to verify your request, and we will reply within the time the law requires.
10. Security
We keep little data and avoid collecting more than we need. Purchases are handled by Apple, and iCloud data is protected by your Apple Account. Still, no system is completely secure, and some radio streams use plain HTTP, which is not encrypted and which we do not control.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will change the effective date at the top, and for significant changes we will say so in the app or on this page.
12. Contact
Questions or requests: support@tunemundi.com. Developer: TuneMundi (the developer listed on the App Store). We handle all requests by email.
